Optical lens manufacturing: Optical lenses are made from materials that include glass or plastic. We use these materials because they are transparent and strong. The process begins with cutting the material into the proper shape using specialized tools. This even more so because the glass alters the way light passes through it depending on the shape of the lens.
After the lens is cut, it is polished to give it a smooth surface. This is accomplished by means of special machines completing the same by means of polish using the material and wheels. It is coated with a special finish once polished, so it can perform better under various lighting.
The lenses are thoroughly examined for perfection following polishing and coating. Before packaging and shipping to customers worldwide, each lens is examined for any issues. The process that an optical lens goes from to materialize as a product is fascinating and requires expertise and patience.
